NEKBA Membership Benefits

Our principle purposes are the betterment of beekeeping, improvement of hive products and the grade of bees, and developing a higher degree of efficiency in beekeeping.

Beekeeping has been described as a passion of the natural world, a great responsibility, and a rewarding stewardship –nature, science, art, and chance all rolled into one endeavor.

Our members enjoy a range of valuable benefits and experiences, in appreciation of their generous support.

Many benefits that come with your membership:

  • Monthly meetings -the fellowship of other Beekeepers, offering the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.

  • Advice on all aspects of Beekeeping and becoming more self-sufficient.

  • The Bee Buzzer– the monthly newsletter from your association to give you information about programs, dates, and locations as well as to inform you as to the operation and function of the association.

  • Lectures, videos, slide shows, and fellowship throughout the year.

  • Outline of course-of-events (tips) published in the association newsletter for taking care of your honey bees throughout the year.

  • Offer training and information to local beekeepers as well as advice to members on all beekeeping matters. Get local support when you’re in a crisis or just need to ask some questions.

  • Free use of the association library of old and new beekeeping books, videos, and DVD’s. The library is a very important part of our service to members!

  • Leadership development.

  • Discounted rate through the association membership to trade publications: American Bee Journal. **This discount was discontinued for Bee Culture in 2014 due to increased costs and is still a fantastic magazine to subscribe to at $2.08 per monthly issue!

  • One thing about this endeavor—you learn from other beekeepers; you usually learn more from the bees themselves.

  • We offer region-specific knowledge.
